Many people put off cleaning their ceiling fans because the job can be messy and somewhat annoying. Here are a few tips to help you make the job easier and help the job to be less of a mess.
The first tip is to try to clean your ceiling fans at least twice a year. You could do this each spring and fall. This will help to prevent so much dust buildup and will make it less of a mess to clean.
Another tip is to take an old pillowcase and spray the inside of it with either a solution of equal parts water to vinegar or with an all-purpose cleaner. Then with the fan off, place the pillowcase over a fan blade. Then as you pull the pillowcase toward you, wipe the blade. This will trap inside the pillowcase all the dirt and debris, without it falling everywhere. Next, if there is still some dust left, wipe what’s remaining with a microfiber cloth.
The last tip is after your lightbulbs are completely cooled, wipe these with a dry microfiber cloth. Then if your ceiling fan has glass globes, remove these and wash them with warm soapy water.
These are just a few tips to help you to have less of a mess and will make cleaning your ceiling fans easier.
