Mosquitoes can be super annoying, and they can carry diseases. If you seem to be having a huge mosquito problem, here are a few steps to help you to reduce those pesky mosquitoes.
The first step is to look for any standing water, even a very small amount, and discard this water. Look at discarded cans and containers, saucers for your outdoor flower pots, tree holes, and clogged rain gutters, which all can be breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Bird baths can also be breeding grounds for mosquitoes, so try to change the water weekly. There are also products available for your water gardens or ponds to help to reduce mosquitoes.
The next step is to try to plant mosquito repellent plants. Some examples could be citronella, marigolds, lavender, bee balm, and rosemary. Mosquitoes do not like all of these plants.
The last step is to invite more mosquito predators into your yard by installing a bird or bat house. Some birds like to eat mosquitoes, and bats love to eat mosquitoes. You could build a bird or bat house yourself since they are easy to build.
These few simple steps will hopefully help you to get your mosquito problem under control.
