The first tip is to make sure all electrical cords and phone/iPad chargers are in a place where the puppy cannot access them, or you could run these cords through a cord concealer. If puppies chew on these, it can cause severe burns and/or electrical shock.
The second tip is to put all medications out of reach of the puppy. So do not place your medications on low tables or countertops, even if your medications are in bottles or pill dispensers.
Another tip is to secure all your trash cans. Puppies will be attracted to the smells from your garbage, and they will try to investigate. Keeping the cans secure will help to make sure your puppy doesn’t eat anything that may cause him to choke or may be poisonous.
The last tip is to double-check your home for anything that is small that can be a choking hazard for your puppy. For example, hair accessories, paper clips, jewelry, or coins can all be choking hazards.
