Candle wax and red wine are two common carpet stains. They can be very difficult to get out. There are carpet stain removers out there, but if you don’t have one available at the moment, here are a few things to try to get out those stains.
When you have a red wine stain, you will want to act quickly. The first thing you should do is to blot the spill with an absorbent cloth, then spritz or sponge the stain with cold water. Then with a mix of 1 Tbsp of each liquid dish soap and white vinegar to 2 cups of warm water, sponge this on the stain. Blot dry. Next, again sponge or spritz with cold water. Lastly, blot dry.
When you have a candle wax stain, you will want to wait until the wax is completely cool. Then you will need to try to scrape off as much of the wax as possible. After that, put paper towels on top of the wax, and press with a warm dry iron. After that area cools, then fluff the fibers with your fingers.
These are just a few things to try to help you to get out those two common stubborn carpet stains.
