Very young children are fearless by nature, which makes a parents’ job that much more difficult. There are so many things that can cause lasting harm to your child, and it might seem like an overwhelming job to keep your children safe. Even inside your own home, somewhere that should be a safe harbor, there are many dangers lurking. For example, if you have chemicals in your home, keeping them out in the open, or even in an unlocked cabinet could spell disaster. Instead, you should put them in a child proof cabinet where you can lock the door. If this is not an option, you should put them up high where they can’t reach.

You should also make sure that there is no opportunity for them to fall down stairs or out a window. Closing off access to such areas is one way to protect your children. There are simple gates that can be set up easily that will stop children while you can step right over them.
