Measure what you cannot see

Radon has no visible or detectable odor. NRPP-certified testing from Camelot provides a measurement to help you understand this concern in a home you own or plan to buy.

Testing addresses an invisible concern

Radon is a radioactive gas that cannot be seen or smelled. There is no reliable way to determine its presence by looking around a house or judging how it feels. A test is needed to measure radon. That makes testing relevant whether you are considering a home purchase, preparing to sell, or looking for information about the home where you already live.

Camelot Home Inspections Inc. offers radon gas testing and identifies the service as certified through the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP). The purpose is to obtain a measurement, rather than to infer conditions from a visual walkthrough. If you are arranging a general home inspection as well, mention that you are interested in radon testing so the requested services and scheduling can be discussed together.

Understand what a test can tell you

A radon test provides information about the measured conditions associated with that test. It is not a promise about what levels will be at every other time or in every part of a property. A home inspection and radon testing answer different questions: the visual inspection describes observable conditions in accessible areas, while testing is needed to assess an invisible gas. Neither should be treated as a warranty against future conditions.

When you receive results, review them in the context of the test and your reason for arranging it. If anything is unclear, ask the testing provider what the reported measurement represents and what appropriate next steps may be. This page does not set a result threshold or substitute for advice from a qualified radon professional. The key point is straightforward: appearance and odor cannot establish whether radon is present; measurement is required.

Prepare details before you call or email

To discuss an appointment, call (855) 312-9472 or email [email protected]. Include the property’s town or county, whether you own it or are buying or selling, and whether you want radon testing on its own or alongside another inspection service. Share any contract-related timing needs, preferred dates, access details, and questions you would like addressed. These details help clarify the request and coordinate a suitable visit. Scheduling is arranged directly by phone or email; no online calendar or form is assumed here.

Before a visit, make sure access to the property can be arranged and tell us about restrictions or practical considerations in advance. If other people need to coordinate entry, identify who will handle access. We can discuss the service and logistics with you before setting a time. For general inspection options, see inspection services; for company background, visit About Camelot.
